Everything you need to know before choosing your car
A few minutes of preparation can make your trip much easier. Here are the key things to check before booking with BR Car Hire.
All bookings and payments are handled through Turo. Our website helps you choose a car; your Turo booking confirms the price, availability and applicable terms.
Choose the right car

Travelling with several suitcases, a pushchair or a child seat? Ask us about space before booking. Seat count alone doesn't tell you how much luggage will fit.
Check driver eligibility
- Minimum driver ages and other eligibility requirements vary by vehicle. Check the specific Turo listing before making plans.
- You'll need to complete Turo's approval and driving-licence requirements. If someone else will drive, make sure they are approved and added through Turo before they take the wheel.
- The person named on the booking should follow Turo's collection and identity-check instructions.
Understand the total price
The daily prices on our website are indicative. Your total can vary with your dates, trip length, availability, Turo fees, protection choices, delivery and selected Extras.
Review the complete total on Turo before confirming.
Check:
- The rental dates and collection/return times.
- The included mileage and any excess-distance charge.
- Any optional unlimited-mileage Extra.
- Delivery or one-way arrangements.
- Fuel or charging Extras.
- Protection options and your potential financial responsibility.
- Unlimited mileage is not automatically included. Check the allowance and available Extras for your chosen car.
Plan collection and return
- We're based in Bromley, South East London. Exact collection and handover details are confirmed through Turo.
- If you need delivery or a one-way arrangement, contact us before booking so we can confirm whether it's available and agree the price. Don't assume delivery is included in the advertised daily rate.
- Allow time for collection checks and your return journey. If your plans change, request any booking changes through Turo and wait for confirmation.
Fuel and electric charging
Petrol and diesel cars
- Check and photograph the fuel level at collection. Follow the return-fuel requirements in your Turo booking.
- If you select Prepaid Refuel, read the Extra's description and price for your chosen vehicle.
Tesla Model 3
- Use Tesla Superchargers during your hire.
- You are responsible for charging costs during your trip.
- Return the car with at least 20% battery remaining.
- Allow time for a final Supercharger stop if needed. Prepaid EV Recharge does not cover electricity used during your trip, and the 20% minimum still applies.

London road charges and parking
Our fleet is advertised as ULEZ compliant. This does not mean all London driving charges are included or avoided.
- The central London Congestion Charge — billed post trip through Turo.
- Dartford Crossing — billed post trip through Turo.
- Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels — billed post trip through Turo.
- Parking, airport and other chargeable roads or crossings are not billed later and need to be paid by the driver.
Applicable road charges are recovered after your trip through Turo. Ask us how this works before travelling so you understand the payment arrangements and avoid duplicate payments. Always check signs and restrictions. Parking charges, tolls and penalties are separate from the advertised rental price.
Child seats and family travel
- Check whether the available booster seat suits your child's height, weight and needs before selecting it.
- If you're bringing your own child seat, ask about compatibility and available space. Make sure it can be installed correctly before starting your journey.
Travelling outside the UK?
- Contact us before booking if you plan to take the car abroad.
- Overseas travel may require additional permissions, documents and arrangements. Don't assume your booking authorises international travel; confirm what is permitted under the vehicle's Turo booking and applicable policies.
Changes, cancellations and support
- Read the cancellation terms shown on Turo before confirming. Check them again before cancelling or changing a booking, as the outcome can depend on your booking terms and timing.
- For questions before your trip, contact us on WhatsApp. Once booked, use Turo messaging for arrangements relating to your hire.
- For a breakdown or urgent trip issue, use the support options provided in your Turo booking.
Your final booking checklist

- All drivers meet the requirements and are approved through Turo.
- I've checked the total price, protection options and cancellation terms.
- I understand the mileage allowance and selected Extras.
